About the Fandom

As of December 12, 2022 the show’s subreddit has 49,488 subscribers and 39,506 fanfiction works on Archive of Our Own (AO3). The most popular character to write about is Kara Danvers, and while this shouldn’t be shocking as she is the main character, in many fandoms the main character is not the most popular to write about. For example in Teen Wolf, Stiles is the best friend of Scott, the main character, and he has the most fanfictions about him for that fandom. Similarly Zuko, is the most popular character in the Avatar: the Last Airbender Series. The other two popular characters are Alex Danvers, Kara’s adoptive sister, and Lena Luthor, Kara’s best friend. In terms of relationships, the most popular ship is Kara/Lena, commonly referred to as Supercorp or Karlena. This ship is not canon, but has 19,660 works written about them. The other two popular ships are Alex/Maggie, who were canon, but broke up due to the actress leaving the show, and Kara/Cat, who were not together in canon.
