Endpoint Management Meeting – July 15, 2021

By: John Straffin

The recording of the July 15 Endpoint Management Meeting is now available.

Items of note:

  • As previously discussed, any devices in Jamf Pro that have not checked in within the last year (since July 12, 2020) will be deleted from the system on July 30, 2021. Departments with more than a few devices should have already received an email (sent on July 12) listing affected devices. If you have devices that have not communicated with the Jamf Pro servers that should not be deleted from Jamf Pro, please either (a) power on these devices (on the VPN if possible) or (b) request an exemption. Please let us know those prior to July 29th by sending an email to oitde@duke.edu with the following format.
  • A new “Introduction to Planisphere” video is now available in the Endpoints Warpwire library.
  • CrowdStrike versions 6.17 and earlier will no longer be able to communicate with the CrowdStrike Console after October 19, 2021. CrowdStrike should be auto-updating, so if you find that you have devices running earlier versions of CrowdStrike, there’s a problem. If this is the case, please contact OIT Device Engineering for support.
