For DUHS Employees: Update regarding DUHS’ Ebola Preparedness

Duke has a comprehensive infection control plan in place that has been developed with input from representatives across the organization. These plans have been under development since patients first arrived in the United States in July and have been continually adapted as new information emerges –  a process that will continue.

During this session, held October 17, at Duke Regional Hospital, Duke University Health System infectious disease experts shared the latest information regarding the virus, including the experience gleaned from caring for patients in West Africa, and the U.S. response to date. Importantly, leadership also reviewed the DUHS infection control system and plans in place to effectively screen patients, as well as the steps being taken to mitigate potential risks to our health care teams, patients and visitors should an Ebola patient require our care. Watch a recording of this information session.
