Who We Are
Duke Occupational Mental Health Programs is a component of Duke’s Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM). Duke OEM provides occupational and environmental health services to scores of organizations in North Carolina and across the nation. The emphasis in each endeavor is to provide responsible and preventive expert advice and support. In addition to functioning as an academic group, Duke OEM concentrates on quality and responsiveness in providing multi-disciplinary services to many clients — internally and externally.
- Duke Occupational and Environmental Medicine is an interdependent division to the Department of Community and Family Medicine in the Duke University School of Medicine.
The Department of Community and Family Medicine was established in 1966 as the Department of Community Health Sciences, the department took an early leadership role in developing programs to improve the health of communities and individuals. Today, the department is a diverse collection of educational, research, and clinical programs that are still united in seeking ways to improve the health of our citizens and communities.
