Application for the Duke Clinical Undergraduate Research Experience (DCRUE) Fall 2017 IS NOW OPEN. Interested in clinical research? The Duke Clinical Research Undergraduate Experience (dCRUE) is a shadowing/career exploration program intended to expose undergraduate students to clinical research and to begin to train the next generation of clinical researchers. The program consists of two components: in the first semester, a weekly dinner series with nationally renowned medical faculty, and in the second semester, the additional opportunity for shadowing rotations in the Duke Clinical Research Unit (DCRU) and Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI). We will be selecting 13 first-semester dinner series participants to attend the Meet the Physician Investigator dinners, and seven second-semester participants to shadow in the DCRU, the hospital, and with other program partners. Those who have participated in the first semester dinner series are encouraged to reapply to remain part of the dinner series in addition to have the chance to shadow. The dCRUE program promises to be a unique experience providing students with a view into modern clinical research. Students will receive personal attention, individual opportunities, and connections with faculty and staff. Open to rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors from all disciplines. Deadline: May 27th, 2017 at 11:59pm. Application is attached below. If you have any questions, please contact Samantha Bouchal at smb116@duke.edu.
