Math Competitions

Over the past quarter century, Duke undergraduate teams and individuals have excelled in regional, national and international  math competitions.

Virginia Tech Regional Math Contest – 9-11:30  Saturday October 22, 2016

W. L. Putnam Mathematical Competition  – 10-6  Saturday December 3, 2016

Mathematics Contest in Modeling and Interdisciplinary Competition in Modeling  January 19-23, 2017

The Problem Solving Seminar, Math 281S, offers students opportunities to hone their skills in problem solving  for these and other competitions.

Each fall, DUMU organizes a popular ARML style high school math meet. Duke
students create and grade the problems and present the awards. Over 300 high
school students throughout the region participated in this meet last fall.
You may enjoy the opportunity to design and grade contest problems for
others.

All Duke undergraduates are welcome to participate in these events.
