IMPORTANT NEWS: Voters will not be required to show photo ID for the 2020 primary election on March 3, 2020.

This is the result of a December 31, 2019 federal district court decision that blocked North Carolina’s voter photo ID requirement from taking effect.

The injunction will remain in place until further order of the court. For more information visit the State Board of Elections website.

We will continue to monitor the status of voter ID requirements in North Carolina and will update this page accordingly.
