The SWE National Conference is just a few months away! This year’s conference will be held November 8th through 10th in Houston, Texas. The conference is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow SWE members from around the nation, talk to prospective employers, and attend useful and informative workshops and seminars. We’re starting the new school year off hitting the ground running! SWE and BOW are teaming up for a Meet-and-Greet/Networking Lunch for Boston Consulting Group on September 10th from 12-2p at the WaDuke. Stay tuned for more information or contact Izzy (isabelle.brogna@duke.edu) to learn more.

SWE will have a casual event as part of reunion weekend on Friday April 20th from 3 to 5 pm on the second floor of the CIEMAS Atrium. This will be a casual event where you can drop by anytime and can meet current SWE member. Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided. What: An opportunity to practice (informal) interview skills with local employers, followed by a panel discussion including tips on what to expect from the transition from University to employment, how to conduct yourself professionally, interview tips, and job search tips. This will be followed by a meet and greet dinner, with opportunity to relax, while connecting, with and developing relationships with future prospective employers.
Why: To provide a missing link between engineering coursework and exposure to employment.
To support female engineering students in finding their ideal discipline.
To provide professional networking opportunities to engineering students and expose them to female mentors.
