ATTN Juniors! The Parthenon Group

The Parthenon Group will be interviewing juniors for the summer associate program in the Boston office in summer of 2012. We will be having an information session on this coming Monday, January 23rd at 8pm in The Old Trinity room. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the firm and its people, and I would strongly encourage anyone who is interested in the position to attend.

We will also be holding informal “coffee chats” throughout the morning and afternoon of January 23rd in von der Heyden café in Perkins library. This will be a chance for students to ask questions, prepare for interviews, and meet firm members in an informal setting. Juniors are encouraged to sign up on e-recruiting. Space is limited, so sign up soon to guarantee a spot.

For more details about Parthenon please read the attached flyer [it was attached to Weekly Digest 1/19], check out our website (www.parthenon.com), or reach out to AJ Everson [contact info in Weekly Digest 1/19… she’s a Pratt alum!] directly.

– AJ Everson, Senior Associate, The Parthenon Group

Capital One

A big shout out to silver flight sponsor Capital One!  Thank you!   …and now to recruiting…

Apply by: Friday, January 27

“Due to our success this Fall, we filled our full-time Business Analyst (BA) opportunities for Virginia but still looking to fill our Dallas, TX BA pipeline (seniors & masters students), our Analyst Internship Program (juniors) and our Summit for Developing Leaders (freshmen & sophomores).  Please refer your friends to Duke eRecruiting and the attachments for more information.  Please, invite your friends who also fit the above criteria!  The resume drop deadline for our opportunities is Friday, January 27.”

SWE Textbook Exchange

As the semester gets started, plan on buying from and selling your textbooks to SWE members!  Chances are, an upperclassman has a book you’ll need or an underclassman will want to buy your book from you.  If that’s the case, fill out the googledoc sent out in Weekly Digest 1/19, then get in touch with whoever has the book you want to buy directly.  Getting your books from another student is sure to be cheaper than buying them at the bookstore!  Please email Robyn (RNS4@DUKE.EDU) if you have any questions, and be sure to check the page often as others update it.

Study Abroad GBM 1/29 6pm

Bryan Center Meeting Room B

Our next general body meeting will be January 29 at a new time for this semester: 6pm, not 5pm as it has been. In addition to our usual SWE updates, we will have a study abroad panel to answer questions to any and all interested ladies! If you have any questions, now is the time to get them answered!

Then please come to our general body meeting on January 29 at 6pm to share how you handled the applications, schooling, and travel. If you are interested, then please email Robyn at rn24@duke.edu.

New Resources!

Check out the Resources page for two newly added resources: career fair tips and a list of companies looking to hire engineers as of Fall 2011.  Both could come in handy when preparing for the spring career-finding rush.
