FEMMES (Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science) is a student-run Duke organization that hosts educational outreach programs related to math, science and engineering for 4th-6th grade girls from Durham public schools. Through FEMMES, female Duke undergraduates, graduates, and faculty members volunteer their time to instill enthusiasm about their careers in the developing minds of young women. The Duke students form personal relationships with the participants of our programs and have a positive influence on the girls’ views of women in math, engineering, and science.
