At the national level, Sigma Xi provides Grants-In-Aid of Research for undergraduate and graduate students. Applications are due to the national office on March 15th and October 15th of each year.
The Duke Chapter of Sigma Xi is sponsoring the following grant competitions in 2015:
The Duke University Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, is sponsoring two grant competitions for Duke University students in the physical, natural, and social sciences. The deadline for receipt of all application materials will be in April 17, 2015 at 5PM. Please find the applications below following the description of the grant.
The grants offered include:
- *The Sally Hughes-Schrader Travel Grant Awards: in memory of Sally Hughes-Schrader for travel to field sites, distant laboratories, or professional meetings. Sponsored by Sigma Xi and the Graduate School. It is not necessary to be a member of Sigma Xi to apply for this grant. There will be 2 awards at $1250 and two awards at $625. - *Duke University Sigma Xi Graduate Student Mini-Grants: grants to students for research expenses not covered by the National Sigma Xi Grant-in-Aid program. The competition is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Please note that you must be a Sigma Xi member to apply for a mini-grant. There will be 2 awards at $250 each.
