Mentors are heart of the Research Scholar Program experience. Each year, our Scholars remark that it was their mentors that made their experience with RSP unforgettable. We are truly grateful for your willingness to volunteer to be part of the RSP.
Mentors are involved in the student selection process and will have contact with your students on a weekly basis. You will be their teacher, model, and source of inspiration. If all goes well, we hope that you might have an ongoing engagement with your student even after the Research Scholars Program ends.
Please fill out the brief mentor application below. We will make every effort to find students who will be a good match for you. You will be notified by early November if we were able to match you with students for interview. If possible, we will forward as many as 5 student applications that we believe are most suitable for your research area. You will then be asked to interview and select the student that you believe is the best fit for your position.
It is possible for scholars to apply for funding to support their work on your project. The Undergraduate Research Support Office offers many funding sources for undergraduates in research. The Dannenberg Award sponsors students who have not declared majors in their research. The URS Assistantship offers similar support for students who have declared a major.
