In Duke/Durham

Participating in some extracurriculars related to veterinary medicine, animals, and science at Duke and/or in Durham is an awesome way to gain experience during the year and balance out all the hours you spend on coursework. This list is not exhaustive, and just because an organization’s website does not list opportunities for pre-vet students doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Many research labs at Duke, vet clinics in Durham, etc welcome pre-vet students that express interest. Also, feel free to explore interests outside the realm of veterinary medicine! Vet schools strive for a diverse and well-rounded class, so consider all of your skills and interests when building up your extracurriculars.
