Dr. Bae named Associate CMO for DUHS

Congratulations to Dr. Jonathan Bae who has assumed a new role in quality as the DUHS Associate Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Patient Safety and Clinical Quality.

The new position was announced recently by the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tom Owens, also a member of our Division of general internal medicine. Dr. Bae will help set the quality agenda and coordinate patient safety and clinical quality activities across the clinical enterprise.  He will also focus on leading the Quality Oversight Committee and leading efforts identified through the Clinical Enterprise Strategic Planning Committee specific to Quality and Safety.

Jon is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and has been on the Duke Faculty since July of 2009.  He successfully completed his residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at Duke University Hospital, and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine also at Duke. Since joining the faculty he has served important roles in quality improvement in the Department of Medicine, and with our Graduate Medical Education programs, and most recently has served as  the DUHS  Medical Director for Mortality and Quality review.
