CMB at Duke University

The Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) Program is an admitting umbrella program that provides flexible, multidisciplinary training in a research-intensive and highly collegial environment.

Students in this highly selective program have the opportunity to affiliate with all departments in the Duke School of Medicine, including Biochemistry, Biology, Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, Cell Biology, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics , Immunology, Medical Physics, Molecular Cancer Biology, Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Neurobiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, and University Program in Genetics and Genomics (UPGG). This affords broad exposure to a diversity of research areas before a specific focus is chosen, and also promotes the possibility of cross-disciplinary and innovative research.

There are currently 150 training faculty from across the University who are affiliated with the CMB Program and 100 pre-doctoral students.
