In a nutshell, what do you do at Duke University Libraries?
I perform original and complex copy cataloging of library materials in a variety of formats, particularly music formats.
If you had to pick one thing, what’s the best part of your job so far?
Cataloging mostly music after having a wider variety of responsibilities in my most recent previous position.
What is the best thing you’ve read/watched/listened to recently?
I’ve been listening to a lot of classic rock lately, and three albums I particularly recommend are Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield, If I Could Only Remember My Name by David Crosby, and Manassas by Manassas. I also watch a lot of science fiction TV and can’t recommend Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Andor highly enough—they’re just so good.
What do you like most about living in The Triangle?
The restaurant scene in Durham is excellent.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I play bass clarinet in the Durham Community Concert Band, watch/write/read science fiction and fantasy, and follow the professional sports teams of Pittsburgh (my hometown) and the football teams of the colleges I attended.
