As we think through calculations for predicting cardiac events, there are a number of factors that we should additionally take into consideration such as left ventricular hypertrophy, decreased GFR, and proteinuria. Also mentioned was the importance of talking to patients about whether it would bother them to take an additional pill daily- something referred to as “pill disutility”.
