What if the universe could bring your memories to life?

This Wednesday, hosted by Professor Erin Wilkerson, DKU Film Society is excited to invite you to a screening of Solaris (1972).

Directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, the film follows psychologist Kris Kelvin, who travels to a space station orbiting the mysterious planet Solaris to investigate the strange behavior of its crew. But soon, mysterious visitors connected to the crew’s past start appearing on the station. When Kelvin is confronted by someone from his own past, he is forced to face memories, regrets, and feelings he thought he had left behind forever.

Blending science fiction with mystery and psychological drama, Solaris explores love, grief, loneliness, memory, and our endless desire to understand the unknown. As the line between reality and memory begins to blur, Kelvin is left with a haunting question: what if the things we search for in the universe are really just reflections of ourselves?
