Join us for the opening of the Humans of DKU Exhibition, a storytelling project that captures authentic personal narratives from the Duke Kunshan University community.
Since its launch in October 2024, Humans of DKU has collected around 30 stories from students, staff, and faculty. Each narrative is shared in the first person, preserving the storyteller’s original voice with minimal editing. These stories serve as intimate snapshots into individual lives: brief yet meaningful windows that together form a mosaic of the DKU community.
This exhibition brings these stories into a physical space for the first time. Through portraits and narratives, visitors are invited to encounter the people around them in a new way. At its core, this project also celebrates the power of conversation and storytelling– the courage to reflect on lived experiences and share meaningful moments with others.
The opening ceremony will include brief remarks about the vision behind the exhibition, its inspiration, and future directions, followed by time to explore the stories, connect with others, and enjoy food and drinks.
