What can happen when music and visual art respond to similar ideas?
Join us on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:00 pm in the CCTE Theater for the closing concert of the exhibition Feeling into Form: Art, Movement, and the Making of Empathy. The concert features Maximiliano Amic’s To the Fleeting Water Say 告流K, a one-hour musical work inspired by the I Ching (Yijing 易) and its hexagrams, accompanied byprojections of outstanding works of visual art inspired by the same I Ching hexagrams. The music explores ideas of change, movement, tension, stillness, and transformation through an ensemble of flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion. The performance will create a dialogue between sound and image throughout the concert.
The concert will be followed by a round-table discussion hosted by Prof. James Miller. No prior knowledge of the / Ching is necessary. Just come, listen, look, and let yourself be surprised by where the encounter between music and visual art may take you. If you like, you can visit the exhibition, Feeling into Form, before or after the concert in the HUM space in AB.
Seize the moment and enjoy a truly unique concert together — come listen to “THE FLEETING WATER SAY”.
