Thematic Short Film Screening about Memory, Identity & Resistance

Tue, April 21 | 7 PM | CCTE Performance Cafe

Join us for an evening of six short films from four countries, circling with one persistent question: whose story gets to be told, and what does it cost to tell your own?

From queer homecoming in China to political uprising in Myanmar, from a Moroccan mining town’s fading memory to a Thai meditation on the dead, this program brings together award-winning works that explore the tension between personal memory and collective power. Moving across experimental and narrative forms, these films are not only objects to be watched but also material media that intervene in memory, reshape the environment, and offer a possibility of resistance.

With live Q&A by director Lin Htet Aung (A Metamorphosis, IFFR Tiger Short Award 2025), and Laphat Thoke (Burmese tealeaf salad) & drinks will be provided.

Presented by Fascism and Everyday Life Initiative, Co-supported by SEAS
