Webinar: Quantum dynamics of a tracer particle in a dense Fermi gas
David Mitrouskas, University of Stuttgart
Abstract:
The quantum dynamics of a single tracer particle through a dense ideal Fermi gas is discussed. Our result shows that in the limit of large density, the tracer particle moves approximately like a free particle. We explain the importance of the Fermi-Dirac statistics for this to hold and compare with a similar situation involving bosonic or classical particles.
