Enhanced dissipation estimates for the Kolmogorov flow

Abstract: We consider the linearized Navier-Stokes equations around the Kolmogorov flow. Due to the vorticity mixing induced by the Kolmogorov flow, the decay rate of the solution is much faster than the diffusion decay rate. This is so called enhanced dissipation. In this talk, I will introduce three methods(wave operator method, resolvent estimate method and hypocoercivity method)  to establish the sharp enhanced dissipation estimate for the Kolmogorov flow.
