Studying for doctoral exams or writing an article, I sometimes felt like I was doing battle with research notes: Where did that concept come from? Who should be attributed for that quote? Fortunately, citation management tools can help all of us to not only organize our research more effectively but also collaborate with co-authors, move our research notes with us to other institutions, and access our notes from any computer. Ciara Healy, roller derby diva and citation management guru, will lead a pack of librarians in a demonstration and discussion of how to make citation management tools your ally in research. Primary focus for this workshop will be the use of cloud-based, open source, collaborative tools like Zotero. Meghan Gamsby and Carson Holloway will weigh in on Mendeley, RefWorks, and EndNote. Bring along your laptop for this hands-on workshop, or check out a laptop at the Perkins Library circulation desk.
