Taixu 太虚 [the Great Void]

Taixu 太虚 [great void] has a strong Daoist connotation. It is also used to refer to the heavens.

In Zhuangzi, the term taixu is used to refer to the vast universe (《莊子·知北遊》:“是以不過乎昆侖,不遊乎太虛”). Later scholars explain it to be the abstruse truth. In Daoism, taixu refers to dao, which generates the myriad of things in the world.
