Why DEID?
I discovered DEID before even applying to Duke, and I immediately knew that if I attended Duke, I would join this organization. I had never seen another undergraduate group that makes such a real, tangible impact around the world. I am not a civil engineer, but designing and building a bridge for a community in need sounded like an incredibly stimulating and rewarding experience to me. Now that I am a DEID member, I am even more impressed by this extremely high-performing, entirely student-run organization than I was as a high school student. I’m happy to do anything I can, whether that means helping with design, planning, or fundraising, to support DEID’s mission and projects!
