I’m doing a “video” paper talk this Wednesday. Was checking the video presentation on a video monitor and it looked terrible. Of course it would. I created the video “waiting” in Keynote and it looked fine on my laptop but the 720p video looked horrible in 1920 in Keynote on the looping video. Terrible? Well, I’m sure it was fine, but not for me.
I already created the video loop in ChatGPT (it did a great job), so I just needed to have it in 1920 – I would have preferred 2k or 4k, but this was all that was allowed. No problem, I found the chat and just asked them to recreate the same video in 1920. I’m sorry Steve, I won’t allow that. Chat GPT has been having video issues in the last week or so. It either replaces nothing (you click it to view it and it has no content), or it tries to download it as a ZIP and there’s a single image or it just gives you errors. I did this in new chats with a simple image and asking a simple prompt.
Switched to Gemini and then Google Flow and fugedabowdit. No matter what the prompt (I even used Gemini and ChatGPT to create prompts) and no matter what I asked, it would change something. Mostly would change the looking of the way that the ocean looked. I needed it to loop so it can’t change.
Went to Higglesfield. Now, Higglesfield is like many of the tools that have multiple video engines. It’s not really something. It has prompts and settings but it looks pretty much like many of them like Adobe Firefly or things like Seedance that have it’s own generators and others.
I tired the same image and the same prompt in Kling 3.0 in Higglesfield and it worked, first time, no issue. It also allowed me to go 1080, 10 seconds (things like Google Flow is limited to 8 seconds) for about 20 credits. The cost is $49/mo for 1000 credits per month.
The general rule is to move along to the next along when something doesn’t work. I’ll most likely stop the monthly to things the Higglesfield when you need one specific. Very disappointed in both Gemini and ChatGPT. Not that hard of a request.
