Last month Duke’s Biamp rep, Michael Frank came out to give us a look and listen to their new TesiraFORTÉ DSP product line. There are several models available to cover various use cases including VOIP, POTS, and external codec conferencing. Each model has 12 mic/line level inputs, and 8 mic/line level outputs which are controllable via their Windows based configuration software. All models also feature a USB output connection which offers up to 8 channels of audio, which is also configurable using their configuration software. All but one model support AEC (Acoustic Echo Cancellation). They also offer each box with or without AVB support. Audio Video Bridging is a collection of technical standards created by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Audio Video Bridging Task Group. Basically, it using a single network to transmit video, audio, and data using smart network switches. They have a thorough AVB resource guide available here.
Trinity Technology Services just purchased a TesiraFORTÉ that will be paired with a Crestron Digital Media Presentation System (DMPS). We’ll get a report from them once they have it up and running.
