New Photoshop/ Lightroom Creative Clouds Subscription Option

By: Todd Stabley

Those of you for whom Photoshop and Lightroom are essential to your workflow might be interested to hear about a new subscription model from Adobe. This option seems like an attempt to satisfy photographers who were upset that there was no other option cheaper than a $20/month fee to license Photoshop (or any other single Adobe product) from Creative Cloud.

This new subscription option presumes that you already own a copy of Photoshop CS3 or higher and will be available as soon as the Lightroom 5.2 update ships. It will include Lightroom, Photoshop, and 20GB of online storage for $10/month with a one-year contract.

Note also that there still is an option available to license earlier versions of Photoshop/ Lightroom via a perpetual license. This option may be more cost effective for some photographers, assuming you don’t need the new features available in the up-to-date cloud version.
