大赛介绍

第一届中国深圳海外创新人才大赛(以下简称“大赛”),由国家外国专家局指导,深圳市人民政府主办,深圳市龙岗区人民政府、深圳市人力资源和社会保障局、深圳市科技创新委员会承办。大赛旨在积极响应中国“大众创业、万众创新”号召,通过“国际化、高端化、市场化、专业化”的办赛理念,为人才提供发展平台,鼓励相互学习和创新。
本次大赛面向所有的海外高层次人才开放,参赛者不限国籍。大赛设立了丰厚的奖金,大赛总奖励为88万美元,参与本次大赛的创投机构达56家,组合形成总额1亿美元的创投资金池,对大赛优秀项目进行组合投资。 除此以外,本次大赛还提供人才政策、产业化奖励政策、科技金融政策、项目孵化等支持政策,每个项目最多可获得380万美元资金支持!

The 1st China (Shenzhen) Innovation Competition of International Talents
Now Calling for Projects!

Introducing the competition:

The 1st Innovation Competition of International Talents, Shenzhen China (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) is guided by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, P.R.C, sponsored by Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, and hosted by Longgang District People’s Government of Shenzhen Municipality, the Human Resources and Social Security Administration of Shenzhen Municipality and the Science & Technology Innovation Committee of Shenzhen Municipality. In response to the call for “mass entrepreneurship and innovation by all” and as guided by the concept of an “international, high-end, market-driven and professional” competition, the Competition aims to provide a development platform for talents to learn from each other and to innovate.
The Competition is open to all high-caliber overseas talents regardless of nationalities. The Competition will offer big cash prizes totaling USD 880,000 to winners and invite 56 venture capital institutions to build a venture capital pool amounting to USD 100 million for portfolio investment in winning projects.
Besides that, it will also offer supporting policies in talents incentives, industrial incentives, technology finance, project incubation and others, with a financial support up to USD 3.8 million for each project.

Uniqueness of the Competition:

Internationalization
The Competition will launch station competitions in five locations: Sydney of Australia, Munich of Germany, Tel Aviv of Israel and Silicon Valley of the U.S. (in alphabetical order by the first letter of country names in English). It’s open to all overseas high-level talents, regardless of their nationality. All of them are welcome.

High-end
Targeting international high-level talents and aiming to select excellent talents with strong ability of innovation, advanced technology and management ability, outstanding advantages, distinctive characteristics of high-end leadership, and strong impetus ability for basic innovation, the Competition is expected to promote talents and projects to settle down in Shenzhen, trigger local industrial transition and upgrading, and help the city secure a leading position in emerging industry development.

Market Orientation
Social resources will be incorporated under the leadership and guidance of the Shenzhen Municipal Government. A market-based mode will be adopted. Professional service providers will be engaged to improve the professional level of the Competition. Industry experts, human resource service and venture capital organizations will be invited for review. Human resource and venture capital engagement platforms will be set up to improve the efficiency of resource allocation in the market.

Introduction of Shenzhen, China

Situated on the eastern estuary of the Pearl River, Shenzhen is a coastal city in southern China neighboring Hong Kong. Covering an area of 1991.64 km2, Shenzhen has a subtropical marine climate with mild seasons, ample sunshine and a wide variety of fruits. The permanent population of Shenzhen in 2014 was 10,778,900.

Shenzhen is one of China’s major international hubs, it is not only one of the country’s most vibrant cities, but is also among the most rapidly developing cities in the world. Shenzhen is a prominent research and manufacturing center for high tech in southern China, the world’s third largest container terminal, the fourth largest airport in mainland China, and a nationally accredited popular tourism destination. In 2014, Shenzhen was rated among the Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreigners. Shenzhen’s economy features a compact industry structure with high tech, finance, modern logistics and culture as its four pillars, while strategic emerging industries and the modern service industry are also rising rapidly as future engines for growth.

Designated as a National Innovative City, Shenzhen puts indigenous innovation at the core of its development strategy. The volume of PCT international applications and number of patents per 10,000 people rank first in all Chinese cities. In recent years, Shenzhen has seen significant activity of the maker movement with thousands of makers active in all corners of the city. Chaihuo Maker Space, Makeblock, and Seeed Studio are some Shenzhen maker spaces that have made a name for themselves both home and abroad. In March 2015, Shenzhen announced plans to develop an International Maker Center and a dedicated annual International Makers Week in June, underscoring its determination to create an international innovative environment for makers both home and abroad.

Shenzhen is known as the window of China’s reform and opening up with the highest level of openness of economy. Total export volume has remained the top in Chinese cities for 22 years in a row. Shenzhen has 65 sister cities and friendship cities in the international community, the number doubling in the past five years. Following the One Belt and One Road Strategy, new opportunities have risen for Shenzhen to promote cooperation in transport and communication, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural exchanges by utilizing its geographical, business and social advantages. Going forward, Shenzhen aims to become a pioneering city on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and play a key role in the Belt and Road Strategy.
