Ob/Gyn Interest Group (OBGIG)

The purpose of this group is to gather students interested in the field of obstetrics and gynecology to help gain an understanding of careers in obstetrics and gynecology, learn concepts and skills relating to health maintenance and disease prevention in the realm of women’s health, and inform students of the various activities of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). The group also helps to facilitate third year research projects related to obstetrics and gynecology, and hosts the annual skills fair, an event that provides first year Duke medical students the opportunity to learn basic clinical skills they had not learned in the classroom setting, such as catheter placement and basic suturing.

We encourage all students to register with the ACOG – it is free and provides access to ACOG’s practice bulletins, which are incredible resources for your second year clerkship.
