Claudia (she/her) is a current student in the Master of Coastal Environmental Management program at Duke University. She graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Biological Sciences in 2017 and the following year completed a Fulbright Research Fellowship in Zanzibar, Tanzania where she studied coral reef health and the impacts and efficacy of existing marine conservation methods with an emphasis on engaging local artisanal fishers. Though her study interests are primarily with coastal ecosystems, she’s also fascinated by deep sea trenches and highly encourages you to google “Yeti crabs dance.”
