Ally Aplin

Ally is a first year Master of Environmental Management student specializing in coastal and marine systems as well as economics and policy. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology at UC Santa Barbara, she spent time working as the lead laboratory and field research technician for the Mo’orea Coral Reef Long Term Ecological Research group. Then, she worked as a marine science educator in Eleuthera, Bahamas. She is interested in small-scale fisheries management and marine protected area implementation. Particularly, she hopes to better understand the links between ecology and sociology within marine sanctuary systems and properly communicate science to the public.
