Getting to the Seminar

Duke Law School
210 Science Drive, Durham, NC 27708

Building Access: If you enter the building from Science Drive, you are entering on the third floor.  If you enter from the side entrance on Towerview Road, you are entering on the second floor.  Upon entering, look to your left for a map of the building to help you locate the seminar room.

Parking: Nearby parking areas on campus include the Bryan Center Garage, the Science Drive Visitor Lot (metered, cash only), the Science Drive Garage; parking may also be available at the James B. Duke Hotel.  Click here for more detailed driving directions to the Law School.

Buses: From Duke’s East Campus, the C3 – Science Drive or C3 – Class Change will take you directly to the Law School (C3 – Class Change drops off at the intersection of Towerview Road and Science Drive, directly across from the Sanford School of Public Policy; C3 – Science Drive drops off on Science Drive, in front of the Law School).  The C1 bus drops off at the Duke Chapel Quad.

Walking:  It is a ~7-10 minute walk from the Duke University Chapel to the Law School.

 

Franklin Humanities Institute
Smith Warehouse, 114 S. Buchanan Blvd, Durham, NC 27708

Building Access: Enter through Bay 4 of Smith Warehouse, on the side facing the Durham Freeway overpass.  The accessible entrance is at Bay 6, on the south side of Smith Warehouse. Enter, and turn right to go to the FHI in Bays 4 and 5. You will reach Bay 5 first from this entrance, and can continue to Bay 4.

Parking: There are two small metered lots on Maxwell Avenue, both located across the street from Smith Warehouse. **NOTE: These meters take cash or cards, but they do not take American Express.

Buses: The CSW bus route serves this location, and the C1 bus stops at Maxwell Avenue, down the street from Smith Warehouse.  Additionally, the Bull City Connector, which is a fare-free route provided by the city of Durham, stops a short walk away from Smith Warehouse on Main Street (in front of the entrance to East Campus).

Walking: It is a 10-15 minute walk from the East Campus bus stop to Smith Warehouse.  It is a 5 minute walk from the BCC stop on Main Street.

 

Rubenstein Library
411 Chapel Drive, Durham, NC 27708

Parking: The closest visitor parking to the Rubenstein Library is at the Bryan Center Parking Garage and Visitors’ Lot. They are a 5-10 minute walk from the library.

Buses: The Rubenstein Library is a short walk from the Chapel circle bus stop, which is served by the C1 and CSW bus lines described above, as well as the Robertson Express bus that connects Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill.

 

In addition to the parking and bus options described above, the Triangle is also served by local taxicabs and ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft.
