Artists Statement:

Brandi Duff was raised to be a creative individual, but that creativity was limited to performing music and creating crafts. A chance encounter with an artist in southern Spain led to a realization of Brandi’s artistic spark. That spark dwindled as different obligations got in the way, but in April of 2018, Brandi found her artistic spark with watercolors. Painting also was a form of therapy to deal with her medical crises. Over the years, Brandi has turned into a mixed-media artist and her art is varied in subject and media. In the summer of 2020, Brandi started creating angels which led to a commission to paint a large angel, which led to creating a small collection of large angels, Angels of Power. These angels were all bald – it seemed as though her subconscious knew more about what her body was going through because a few months later Brandi was diagnosed with metastatic inflammatory breast cancer.
