Consulting Hours:

We’re here to collaborate and mentor you on your game design journey. We’ll act as mentors and testers, helping refine your ideas or discussing how to approach them without debugging support.

Consulting hours for CS390 will begin on Wednesday, 1/15!

What We Can Help With:

  • High-Level Problem Solving –  Brainstorming strategies or understanding concepts like:
    • “How can I approach designing a gravity reversal mechanic?”
    • “I don’t understand collision detection.”
  • Game Design Feedback – Discussing your ideas and providing feedback on:
    • “Is my game idea too ambitious?”
    • “How can I make this level more challenging?”
  • Learning Environment Setup:
    • If you’re having trouble setting up your tools or development environment, we’re happy to help you get started so you can focus on creating your game.

What We Won’t Do:

  • Debug or help you write your code.

Quest Guides (TAs):

  • Quest Guides can be summoned through OhHai, an online platform for managing office hours and queueing.
    • Instructions for how to use OhHai can be found here.
    • In-person office hours will be held in Reuben-Cooke 248

Guild Leader (Instructor):

  • Hours:
  • Note: The Guild Leader’s consulting hours aren’t limited to just homework questions. It’s also an opportunity to seek career advice, explore internship opportunities, discuss computer science topics, get course guidance, and more. It is not just a space to receive help with the class but also for broader academic and professional conversations.
