In this class meeting, we will do the following:
- Report out by me (Prof. Stephens-Martinez) on what I learned from the SGIF and what I plan to do going forward with that feedback.
- Finish up any slides left from Wednesday’s meeting.
- Group check-ins and consulting hours with me.
For the group check-ins, I recommend doing a flavor of a stand-up meeting if you’ve ever done a software engineering internship. You go around and answer the below questions. I do this in my research undergrads’ weekly meetings.
- What have you done since the last meeting?
- How is your progress in relation to the next milestone? Did you accomplish what you set out to do since the last meeting?
- What do you want to discuss with the group or consult with Prof. Stephens-Martinez about today?
- What do you plan to do between now and the next meeting?
It is potentially helpful to do the above written in an actual Google doc/slide deck or something easily accessible to the group so you can refer back to it. Especially considering brains are lossy!
