SGIF Report out, Consulting hours, & Group Check ins

In this class meeting, we will do the following:

  1. Report out by me (Prof. Stephens-Martinez) on what I learned from the SGIF and what I plan to do going forward with that feedback.
  2. Finish up any slides left from Wednesday’s meeting.
  3. Group check-ins and consulting hours with me.

For the group check-ins, I recommend doing a flavor of a stand-up meeting if you’ve ever done a software engineering internship. You go around and answer the below questions. I do this in my research undergrads’ weekly meetings.

  1. What have you done since the last meeting?
  2. How is your progress in relation to the next milestone? Did you accomplish what you set out to do since the last meeting?
  3. What do you want to discuss with the group or consult with Prof. Stephens-Martinez about today?
  4. What do you plan to do between now and the next meeting?

It is potentially helpful to do the above written in an actual Google doc/slide deck or something easily accessible to the group so you can refer back to it. Especially considering brains are lossy!
