Lesson Plan Development
Duke’s Community Science Team collaborates with researchers at the Duke Marine Lab to create original lesson plans on a variety of science topics and for a variety of audiences. The Marine Debris Curriculum and the Water Quality Curriculum can be found under Online Teacher Resources, and if you are a teacher and want to incorporate the curriculum in your class, then contact us to participate in one of our teacher trainings!
SciREN Workshop
Duke’s Community Science team offers a workshop in lesson plan design as part of SciREN. This professional development opportunity (for scientists) gives you all the building blocks you need to develop your own lesson plan based on your current research. Over the past few years, workshop participants have presented their lesson plans to NC educators at SciRen and won the lesson plan competition!

The Community Science team welcomes collaboration! Currently, we have research collaborations throughout NC. Our team can help your project with outreach, community-based research, citizen science and/or community engagement.
