When she visited campus in April 2012, she discussed her family narrative, Un Amour de frère (Gallimard, 2012).

Yet her next narrative was already beckoning , and the voice of Roland Barthes calling out to her.

Speaking to the “Free Speech: France USA” seminar about her investigative reporting in her home town, Tunis, she broached her new project, and the unlikely convergence it was creating between her work in Barthes’s legendary seminar during the 1970s, and the Tunisian ‘Jasmine’ revolution.

The book appeared this summer during the centenary year of Barthes’ birth
