The Office of Physician-Scientist Development (OPSD) PRIME initiatives aim to enhance innovation in biomedical science and promote health equity by developing a diverse cohort of successful biomedical research scientists.
OPSD PRIME Academy is a summer professional development series that provides networking opportunities and a well-rounded review of both the research enterprise and opportunities in biomedical research.
The program lasts through the summer and occurs on a flexible schedule to accommodate 8 weeks of mentored research, networking, and skills development.

- Post-Baccalaureate Scholars
- Medical Students
The program encourages applications from individuals who identify as belonging to any of the following groups:
- Communities that are historically underrepresented in STEM, biomedical sciences, or medical fields
- Historically or socioeconomically disadvantaged
- People with disabilities
