This program is designed to give basic science-oriented PhD graduate students and postdoctoral associates exposure to clinical areas and translational opportunities related to their field of research. The four tracks include: Infectious Diseases; Oncology and Regenerative Medicine; Neurosciences; and Endocrinology, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Disease.
PROGRAM ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
- Participation in monthly clinical experiences
- Monthly clinical conferences and journal clubs
- Monthly guest speaker series highlighting translational career opportunities
- Education on effective science communication
- Attendance at a national clinically-oriented conference
The program lasts 9 months (September-May) and occurs annually.
ELIGIBILITY. This program is for…
- Graduate Students: Applicants must have successfully completed their preliminary examinations prior to the start of the program in the fall of the application year.
- Post Docs: Applicants should anticipate being at Duke for the entire program year.
