I am excited to announce that Suzanne Biegel of Catalyst at Large and I are repeating our 2.5-day intensive course Getting Gender Smart in September 2019. The course helps investors, fund managers, philanthropists, and financial consultants integrate a gender lens into their investment practices. We explore six gender lenses, share up to date research findings from around the world, and give participants practice applying what they are learning to portfolio strategies, public funds, private funds, and direct investing. We talk about how to up your game in your current investment portfolio, or how to start applying a gender lens from where ever you are. You emerge with the format for a written plan, a set of tools, a binder (not full of women, thankfully, but full of PPMs, frameworks, and gender investment examples), and a tangible network of support for what you want to do.
We created this program for the first time last year and ran it in March. We had a really diverse group of participants from multinational corporations, investment firms, governments, NGOs, foundations, and universities. And honestly, it was one of the most satisfying training we’ve ever done. The overwhelmingly positive response was humbling and invigorating! And the group has kept supporting each other since.
Here’s what people said:
“The program was phenomenal, definitely exceeded my expectations! There were a broad range of backgrounds represented in the room, which made the discussion rich and varied, and the instructors brilliantly managed to make the material relevant to each and every one of us. The examples and information were cutting edge and highly relevant, and the networks and connections gained were fantastic. Highly recommend!”
“The Getting Gender Smart training with Suzanne Biegel and Cathy Clark is the most powerful first step we can take on our values-aligned financial journey.”
“The depth of material and tools provided will enhance your knowledge in this field, and the exercises will send you away with an action plan to move yourself or your organization deeply into gender lens investing.”
Suzanne wrote a blog we at CASE just published with 15 steps on how to invest for a gender equitable world. This is a great overview. If you want to go deeper and move to action with some expert help, please consider signing up for our program.
