Vacancies in the DNCR Division of Land and Water Stewardship

The Division of Land and Water Stewardship is seeking applicants for 3 vacant positions, and the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources also has a very important vacancy to be filled. Please see below to learn more, apply, and share!

NC Land and Water Fund Field Representatives (2 vacancies, representing the Eastern and Central regions) (accepting applications through 3/3).

Field Representatives serve as the organization’s eyes in the field and liaison with partners. They need to be comfortable making a presentation in front of the Board of Trustees and equally so walking through the woods in July. This can be a challenging position, but one that is also fun and rewarding. The successful candidates will have experience with land conservation, be familiar with the principles of stream and wetland restoration, and be extremely comfortable working alone or with partners in all the off-trail, outdoor environments North Carolina has to offer. They should be tactful, outgoing, and detail-oriented.

Natural Heritage Program / Department of Natural and Cultural Resources HBCU/MIHE Summer Internship Program (accepting applications through 2/28):

The Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCU) & Minority Institutions of Higher Education (MIHE) Internship is a paid, ten-week program designed to expose, engage and educate students by giving them tangible, real-world experience with various divisions within the department. The NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources has partnered with North Carolina’s HBCUs and MIHEs to provide this opportunity to rising Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students. Interns work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks in the summer. Essential components of the program include professional development, leadership training, and networking opportunities.

DNCR Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Administrator (accepting applications through 2/21):

The Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion Administrator supports the Deputy Secretary for Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion by providing strategic direction for DNCR’ s statewide Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. This includes coordinating the day-to-day statewide effort of Diversity and Inclusion in the areas of Internships, Training, and the inclusion of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB).
