Research technician wanted: A full-time research assistant position with benefits is available in the Bejsovec laboratory at Duke University. This position will be part of a research team that investigates developmental processes and cell to cell signaling, using the fruitfly as a model system to understand genetic pathways that cause cancer in humans. Responsibilities include supervising undergraduate research students, preparing media and reagents, organizing and ordering laboratory supplies, maintaining Drosophila lines, and preparing samples for microscopy. Training will be provided but some laboratory experience is preferred. B.S./B.A. in Biology or Chemistry required; expertise in molecular techniques, model organism genetics, and microscopy would be particularly useful for this position.
