reOrientations, a collaboration with Thomas DeFrantz, Ayan Felix, MX and Kate Alexandrite, and initiated by Dr. DeFrantz, took form primarily in a multi-modal and improvisatory performance, partially documented below. During the October residency at Duke’s Slippage Lab, the four collaborators rehearsed, conversed, played and created media objects that were then further improvised with, culminating with two nights of performances in front or an intimate audience over approximately 45 minutes which included live audio and video mixing, dance, occulus 3-D sculpting, drawing, movement and speech.
