On September 1, 2015, the Duke University Program in American Grand Strategy hosted Derek Chollet for a conversation entitled “Obama’s Grand Strategy Midway through the Fourth Quarter.”  Chollet, a counselor and senior advisor for security and defense policy at the German Marshall Fund of the United States and former U.S. Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs discussed how a Presidential administration translates lofty goals to realistic and practical foreign policy.  Chollet also discussed how the Obama administration views each area of the globe, and outlined aspects of the strategy that may often get overlooked.  For more information regarding Mr. Chollet and his extensive career, visit this interview conducted by the Duke Political Review.
