American Gut Project

The ADMC is one of six consortia funded by the National Institute of Aging’s large initiative:

American Gut Project

The American Gut Project (part of the Microsetta Initiative) is an active research effort in which scientists aim to work with citizen scientists, as well as academic and industry researchers, to understand the life associated with humans and to advance microbiome science.

One of the big questions the American Gut scientists hope to figure out is what health and lifestyle factors are associated with microbiome composition.
