Peru Manager

Ricardo Gareca

Following a lengthy managerial run with clubs in Peru and his home land of Argentina, Ricardo Gareca was named the man in charge of the Peruvian national team in 2015. His task: reverse the fortunes of La Blanquirroja, starting with the 2016 Copa América. A semifinal appearance in certainly checked that box. With his style of short passing and possession-based football, Gareca has seen phenomenal success in his brief time in the driver’s seat. Now, having guided Peru to its first World Cup in over 35 years, the Argentinian and his side have enraptured the football crazed nation which has waited so long for its return to the main stage. However, the highly respected manager will not be content to simply be a tourist in Russia — the Peruvians will surely expect to advance past the group stage and leave their mark on the tournament.
