As a community, Ubuntu is committed to furthering conversations about the state of engagement in the world. We have conversations about poverty, women’s empowerment, and service on a consistent basis. We have conversations about the state of politics, Duke, and ourselves. We are a living group at heart. We hang out together. We watch movies, go to each other’s performances, and take care of each other.

You should join us if you want to be around people with interesting and diverse interests. You should join us if you want to have stimulating conversations and be challenged about your opinions. You should join us if you want to have a group of really fantastic friends who care and support you. You should join is if you want to reach the full potential of your character.

Diego Quezada

Hello world, Diego Quezada here. A member of the Class of 2015 and a public policy major, I am particularly interested in politics and enjoy discussions with others on current affairs. I am a contributor to the Duke Democrats blog and the SB Nation-affiliated blog Hot Hot Hoops, so I guess you could say that I like expressing my opinions. But I also like hearing the opinions of others on political, philosophical or sports issues.

As a U.S. born son of an Italian mother and a Dominican father, I am actually a citizen of three countries. I am proficient in Spanish and less so in Italian. When I’m not studying or keeping up with politics and sports, I enjoy working out and listening to music. In fact, that’s Black Thought from the Roots with me in the picture. I’m very excited to join Ubuntu and contribute to a vibrant, active community.
