Hey guys! I’m Natalie, or Nat, or whatever nickname you come up with. But hopefully you don’t come up with the nickname of Natty Light because that beer is like sex on a canoe: f***ing close to water. I’m from Seattle, Washington and I’m majoring in Biology. I love basically anything related to Global Health, and I hope to become a pediatrician or ObGyn who sets up clinics in Central America or Southeast Asia to help overcome health inequalities. I love kids and spend a lot of my time teaching violin/viola to them as a part of Duke Music Tutors and doing childcare for Gente Aprendiendo para Nuevas Oportunidades (aka GANO). I’m also involved in To Write Love On Her Arms and Duke Hospital Cancer Patient Care, and am starting a sign language club at Duke. I love making and listening to music, dancing, drawing, making jewelry, playing soccer/lacrosse, hiking, and kayaking. I’ve studied taekwondo, jujitsu, MMA, aikido, and have a black belt in hapkido. I love all my Ubus to bits, so this means each and every Ubu has a mini-sized body guard if they ever need it. I cook and bake all the time, some of my favorites being pad thai, penang curry, and oatmeal cookies. I’d love to get to know you over a cup of chai and maybe a couple dozen cookies (go big or go home), so come visit me – I can’t wait to meet you all!
